Instructors

Each of The Movement Arc’s  programs has a unique set of diverse instructors with many years of experience in their fields as well as teaching and facilitation experience.

3 year Dance/Movement Therapy program: Learn from dedicated, ‘seasoned’ Board Certified Dance-Movement Therapists (minimum 15 years clinical experience) who also hold degrees, credentials and expertise in other creative arts therapies, play therapy, movement analysis, and diverse aspects of child and adult development. Course instructors bring you expertise in treating trauma, cross-cultural experience and diversity training, eating disorders, adults and children of all ages and abilities, psychiatric patients, drug and alcohol addictions, community movement ritual, neurobiology, the Discipline of Authentic Movement, voice, and dance/movement as tools for wellbeing.

1 year Expressive Movement Facilitator program: Many of the instructors from the DMT program also teach in this 1 year facilitator program in addition to several other instructors from different types of Expressive and Somatic Movement facilitation such as Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, Breathing science, and varied global dance traditions as well. Each instructor has a minimum 10 years experience in their practice.

Dipping Your Toes In

The Movement Arc introductory workshop is open to clinicians and non-clinicians interested in beginning their learning and professional development in Dance/Movement Therapy or Expressive Movement Facilitation.

Expressive Movement Facilitator Training

1 year (non-clinical) certificate program, which offers skills training for professionals in the facilitation of expressive movement, dance and embodiment practices for community applications.

Dance/Movement Therapy Training

3 year clinical training to become a professional Registered Dance/Movement Therapist or for clinical professional development for Masters level Counsellors, Psychologists or related Therapists.
